The Bulgari Custom Chandelier was designed for the Dubai Bulgari Resort lighting project in a collaboration between Metis Lighting and the Citterio Viel architects.

Since the initial renders, the architects wanted to introduce in the Dubai Bulgari Resort Bar area a large round chandelier composed
by two big decorative elements with a luminous shape in between.

The main reference were the Bulgari iconic rings but the chandeliers had not yet been defined. After many ideas, the mesh introduced in the Bulgari Boutiques by the architect Peter Marino was the inspiration.

The mesh symbols were developed in 3D in crystal elements forming a cube, cylinder and star. These volumes sparkle and shine when receiving light offering a perfect examples of the concept of ‘light as material’.

Since the space is filled with daylight and the evening the intention was a more cozy atmosphere, the Bulgari Ring Custom Chandelier integrated LED sources with warm dimming technology.

During the day the light is cooler, whereas when it’s dimmed down, the light becomes warmer.
