The Bulgari Hotel and Resort in Dubai was a challenging project including an extensive lighting project from the interiors to the façade.

For the Bulgari brand this project was not just a hotel, but a whole world. It occupies a part of an artificial island, a vast area with mixed use buildings and outdoor spaces: a hotel building with public spaces, private villas and residences with pools, gardens and beaches, a yacht club pavillion along the Marina. This resulted in a big scale intervention with an intense need for identity.

ACPV ARCHITECTS starting point was the brand itself, creating a sort of a necklace composed of single architectural gems, all creating a complex of legible volumes, and highly characterized by iconic elements giving identity.

The Bulgari Hotel Dubai façade lighting of the Hotel building was studied since the very beginning of the project. Τhe intention was to work on the reinforced glass concrete “brise soleil” with the lively coral shape.

During the daytime, it creates beautiful shadows interacting with natural light, while at nighttime it’s animated with artificial light without being visible or glary.

Bulgari Hotel Dubai lighting included lighting details integrated in the outdoor features, pools, gardens, pathways and the promenade of Marina.

Since the area is so vast, the architect wanted to create unique identity bearing design elements, for enhancing the brand. Lighting elements were designed ad hoc, becoming not only important lighting fixtures but visual features.

Specifically in the yacht Club an outdoor custom made lantern was introduced to accompany the guest and create a connection between interior and outdoor.
