This lighting fixture was first developed as a custom lamp for the Dolce&Gabbana boutique by David Chipperfield as a new innovative product providing both diffuse and direct light. It is a ceiling recessed lighting system with trimless installation and consists of  compact fluorescent fittings and adjustable dichroic lamps, all mounted behind a diffuser. The particularity is that externally you have only a luminous sign which however creates a very complete quality of illumination. Mixed light qualities became a very valid method, used until today in most retail lighting schemes, and for this reason Fontana Arte developed the lamp as a standard product. The lamp is mounted as a linear disposition of lamps or square shaped cluster.
