BULGARI
CHAMPS ELYSÈES
PARIS
In a magnificent setting, completely renovated, at 136 avenue des Champs-Elysées, Bulgari opened its new fifth address in Paris.
The design language emphasises with a distintive atmosphere the identity of the international, yet quintessentially Italian luxury brand: classical Italian travertino, pervades the space featuring floor, walls, elegant columns, with discrete, sophisticated brass insertions, saffron-orange accents, yellow and gold hues warm this essence of Bulgari’s soul. Metis Lighting is delighted to have contributed to this epitome of refinement.
Upon entering the boutique, a few steps introduce to the majestical theatrical welcome of a central space, porously connected with adjoining areas dedicated to the Maison’s most emblematic collections. A wise use of indirect lights focuses the point of brilliance right in the middle of the round ceiling vault, from where an exuberant chandelier, a spectacular light sculpture by Venini, shines, hovering above the counters.
Each lighting point attentively pondered has been designed, executed and finally installed in harmonic dialogic synergy with the context. A mix of diffuse light and punctual small devices with high-performance optics emit, well-calibrated accents of intensity in well-defined directions, reserved to pieces of art, details and vitrines anchored on slender brass bases, hanged on pale gold screens or apricot saffron silk lined display cases into the wall. The display cases, specifically, have undergone extensive testing to benefit from the optimal lighting.
All the luminaires have a CRI greater than 92, CRI 97 for all the jewellery cases, temperature 3000K.
Two private VIC rooms pay homage to the spirit of Italian aesthetics with the intimate, elegant discretion of an informal luxury.
One of the two interior, inspired by the warm, pale tone of the travertino, crafts a more neutral setting, nurtured by sensuous, organic silhouettes and a series of brass glimpses. The strategic combination of a luminous line replicating the brass profile along the ceiling perimeter in unison with super-shielded downlights, positioned to address the correct accents on surfaces requiring special visual task, and glowing points of table lamps achieve the perfect balance between mood and functional lighting. The petrol green note of Pignatelli’s painting completes the enticing environment.
The second VIC lounge adopts as well downlights, privileging an indirect cove luminescence that subtly traces the entire ceiling contours. The grazing light, complemented by the soft brightness of two decorative appliques, and the luminous suffuse effect generated by invisible profiles inserted face to face into two vertical wall cuts enlivens the sonority of the orange wall tone and the empathy of the monochrome Aphrodite of Pignatelli.
