B&B ITALIA
FLAGSHIP STORE
NEW YORK
B&B New York Lighting project comes after the illumination of the brand’s Novedrate and Munich salepoints. This particular case gave the opportunity to experiment with innovative lighting solutions including the extensive use of LED sources.
The famous Italian Furniture brand lands in Madison Avenue in the Ground Floor of a highly iconic New York-is building of the 1910’s getting refurbished by Citterio Viel studio and Metis Lighting implements the B&B lighting scheme.
Being designed by John B. Snook Sons studio for Terry & Tench Company, main supplier of the steel loads for Manhatan Bridge and Grand Central Terminal, the building is the most rappresentative industrial context, to accomodate the highly stylish furniture of B&B.
The ACPV ARCHITECTS approach was based on the application of the latest Concept from the Novedrate store in Italy, adjusted to the feaures of the Madison Avenue space, the contact with the street, the extensive heights and the existing textures and finishings.
A luminous ceiling casts ‘’cool daylight’’ on a garden, adding another element playing with the guest’s perception, together with the high reflective ceiling elements.
The lighting fixtures had to meet the performance requirements, while staying always discrete on the black ceiling background, and the careful focusing was fundamental.
The overall B&B lighting project resulted in a New York Flagship store representing at its best the Italian design and innovation.
